NYC

After the recent spam of Instagram posts, it is clear to see I have just got back from one the greatest cities in the world.. New York City! The big apple did not fail to disappoint, however it goes with no exaggeration that I have never been so exhausted in my whole entire life. And as I famously quoted "I wasn't this tired giving birth to Harley!" (which is true btw). The minus temperatures, Rebecca's useless Google Map skills and not forgetting to mention breaking down on the motorway on the journey home, it was definitely one eventful trip.
Despite all of that, the presence of being in NYC was one of a kind. Seeing the sights; The Statue of Liberty, Times Square and The Empire State Building, just to name a few, you kind of had to pinch yourself to believe you were actually there.

Going at this time of the year means layering up and wearing lots and lots of thermals. I was hoping that this post would be an outfit post but as it was absolutely FREEZING!! I didn't get chance to take many outfit pics. So, I will have to make do with sharing all our touristy, candid shots from our time in New York.

With NYC being such a huge city, we wanted to cram in as much as possible into the time we had. And that is exactly what we did. In two full days we visited the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island as well as mistakenly ending up on Ellis Island. COURSE WE DID. Next we made our way to the site of the 9/11 memorial and then over the famous Brooklyn Bridge and into Brooklyn. Of course it took us about an hour to figure out how to actually get onto the Brooklyn Bridge but we eventually found it in the end. Quite disappointed I didn't see Dan Humphrey but unfortunately you can't have everything... xoxo

Empire State building was next on our list. Stood on the 102nd floor of what once was the tallest building in the world, it is safe to say we were pretty high up which didn't help with the freezing cold and extremely windy weather but it was so worth it for the view!

Our hotel was situated directly opposite Madison Square Garden and a 10 minute walk from Times Square. (The Grammy's were actually been held in MSG the night we left but unfortunately for us we saw no celebrities *sad face*). Times Square was just like I'd imagined. It was so busy; not just the amount of people about but everything that was going on around us too.

The main shop on our to do list was of course Sephora. After entering almost every Sephora in New York (thanks to Tiff and Rebecca), I didn't think I wanted to see another Sephora ever again. However, now i'm home I sit here thinking about all the stuff I regret not buying whilst I was there. I could have spent a fortune. And so should have!

On our final full day in NYC we explored Central Park. Legit didn't think it would be that big so we didn't quite end up making our way round the full thing BUT we did manage to find the Met Steps which I was such a fan girl about and so without doubt took a quick pic and let out my inner Blair Waldorf.

We then took a subway to take us to Soho but OBVIOUSLY we got on the wrong one and ended up in The Bronx. "Guys I don't think we're in Manhattan anymore..." (if you know you know). So after all that we finally made our way to Soho on the hunt for a famous Black Tap milkshake, which was undeniably worth the journey. Definitely would recommend if your ever in New York! Whilst in Soho, we shopped until our feet could take no more before heading back to our hotel to prepare ourselves for more adventures in Times Square.

I could probably go on and on waffling about how much of an amazing, cold, unlucky, funny time I had but I don't want to bore you all, so i'll leave it here... but if you do ever get the opportunity to visit New York then DO IT! It is crazy.

I also just want to say how cringe I have felt writing my first ever blog post like this one but hopefully it's something i'll get over...
Thanks for reading!
